Betty Ann Duffy

Betty Ann Duffy passed from this life into her eternal home on Saturday, June 29, 2013. She was born May 17, 1927 in Kansas City Missouri to Glenn and Clara Hilts. Betty was the fifth of their six children. Betty attended St. Mary's College in Leavenworth and graduated from Kansas University, where she was proud to be a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority, in 1948. On July 8, 1963 she married fellow Jayhawk and truly the love of her life Jack Duffy. They moved here to Oklahoma City in 1966 and continued to raise their 4 daughters. Betty was mainly a stay at home mom where she kept extra busy as a homeroom mother, Bluebird and Campfire leader and organizer of all things fun for her 4 girls. She also worked for the Oklahoma State Legislature for over 10 years as an executive secretary. Betty Ann loved her family with a passion rarely seen and in later years kept extremely busy with her 5 beloved grandchildren. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, tennis, friends and family. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, one brother, three sisters and two of her beloved daughters, Jennifer Ann Duffy and Kathleen Duffy Buchanan. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Jack Duffy, her brother Richard Hilts of Indianapolis Indiana, her son-in-law Mike Buchanan of Wichita Kansas, daughter Susan Duffy Fisher of OKC, OK, Joyce Duffy Payne and son in law Donald Payne of Yukon OK. Grandchildren Aaron Fisher and wife Karina Kezbers Fisher of Edmond OK, Beth Mitchell, husband Shane and great grandchild Toby of Wichita Kansas, Jeremy Payne of Yukon OK, Stephanie Payne of Harrah OK and JJ Buchanan of Wichita Kansas. A Rosary will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow 10:00 am Wednesday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
