Betty Rae (Meadows) Gossett, 82, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on September 13, 2020 after a long illness. Betty was born November 7, 1937 in Mounds, IL to Raymond and Evelyn(Peterson) Meadows. Betty graduated from La Crosse Central High School in La Crosse, WI. She lived in OKC and worked at Presbyterian Hospital for over 20 years. Betty loved flowers, going to thrift stores and garage sales. Her sneeze would scare anyone around her because it was so loud and she sneezed so many times. Betty loved life and her loud laugh was contagious. She laughed at her dog when he would attack the vacuum cleaner when it was turned on and she had to cycle through all families’ names trying to think of the right one. She would always tell whoever was carving the turkey at Thanksgiving to “save the neck for Paul” and hollered when the grandkids stepped on her toes. Betty never allowed life circumstances to keep her down. She is survived by her children, Becky Turpin and husband, Ronnie, Paul Duncan and wife, Debi and Randy Duncan and wife, Sondra, sister, Jean Roth and husband, Tom as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Betty will always have a special place in my heart. She taught me how to be a young mother and be a better mother. Was always good to me and my children. I will think of her with the kindest thoughts. You will be missed ladybug I know you’re being celebrated in heaven as you should be. When I make it home I will see you. Until then God bless 💜🌺

Betty will always have a special place in my heart. At 14 I lived with her for a couple of years. She oversaw my school work . And punished me when I needed it. Never stuck to the punishment though she always let me off early. Made me go to school when I didn’t want to. She inspired me as a young mother. Taught me how to be a better mother. Was always good to me and my children. She loved the way I used to curl her hair and put perms in it. And do her moms when her mom was in town. I will always have kind thoughts and loving memories of her and with her. I’m glad you made it to heaven no doubt in my mind that’s where you are. I know now you are being celebrated loved and adored as you should be and deserve. I will see you when I make it home ladybug until then God bless 💜🌺

I was so lucky to have a mother in law like Betty. We shared a lot of the same likes over the years including General Hospital and Blue Blood. I'll always be there for Paul and the rest of the family. It's time for you to rest. Love you and I'm going to miss you so terribly much. Debi
