Bob Durham

Bob, age 75, died March 1, 2012 after a brief illness. Bob was born July 11, 1936 in Welch, WV. He was an Independent Claims Adjuster and was a partner with Marvin Kephart in D-K Claims Service. Bob retired after 36 years in the claims adjuster field.

He is survived by his wife Gail, son Bobby of OKC, daughter Susan of OKC, and Jan, the mother of his children. He is also survived by one brother, John & wife, Sue of Sycamore, IL, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother Juanita, daughter Debra, and two sisters, Beverly and Carolyn.

Bob loved to read. He also loved to travel-visiting 49 states and capitals, going to “the lake house” and spending hours in the boat. Bob lived life to the fullest! He was a brilliant self-made man. He was respected, admired and loved by many, many people. Bob leaves behind many who hold cherished memories of times spent together. If preferred, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice.

Visitation will be held March 4, 2012 from noon until 8:00 pm with family present to greet friends from 2-4 pm. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, Monday, March 5th at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
