Carolyn L. Beck

Carolyn Louise Beck, born on December 10, 1949 (age 73) passed away on January 3, 2023. Born in Oklahoma City, she was the daughter of Elmer Cleo “Smiley” Beck and Alberta Earlene Beck. She attended Putnam City High School, class of 1967 and received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1970 and was an education major. She was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority and continued those close friendships up until her passing. Carolyn worked as a pharmaceutical rep before transitioning into education, working at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School where her mother Earlene was a founding member of the church. She started out as the P.E. teacher and then worked as the Preschool Assistant for 16 years before she retired in 2019. Carolyn always wanted to be a mother, so as a single woman in her forties, she traveled all the way to China and adopted two baby girls who became her pride and joy. She supported them in everything they did from sports on the weekends, to choir performances and everything in between. She was their biggest cheerleader. Carolyn was a devout Catholic and went to church regularly. She loved traveling and lived in Maui for five years where she had many spontaneous adventures and met some of her very best friends. There was never a dog Carolyn met that she didn’t love and was very passionate about animal rescue. She has saved hundreds of dogs by fostering throughout her life. She was a social butterfly and enjoyed going to lunch with members of her graduating class at Putnam City and of course her Delta Zeta sorority sisters who she loved like family. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Earlene Beck. She is survived by her two daughters, Lurah Danielle Jewell (husband Michael) and Lacey Beck. Her granddaughters, Charlotte Louise Jewell and Georgia James Jewell. Brother Douglas Allen Beck (wife Susan) and nephew John Douglas Beck (wife Annie).
