Carolyn A. James

Carolyn Ann James passed away peacefully on June 21, 2016. Carolyn was born on October 22, 1938, in Perkins, Oklahoma. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Shelton, and her two sisters, Kathy and Ruth. She is survived by a brother, Steven Johnson and his wife Cathy, son Ken and his wife Janice, son Gary and his wife Shirley and son Jerry and his wife Holly. She is also survived by four grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Jessica and Shelby, who were the loves of her life. Carolyn had attended Council Road Baptist Church since 1968, and her Sunday School class brought her great joy and many lifetime friendships. She supported her church, friends and community in many ways, but never sought recognition or attention for her service. She loved sports, especially her beloved Oklahoma City Thunder and Oklahoma Sooners. She was the glue that held her family together and was always quick to offer assistance when someone was in need. In all she said and did throughout her life, Carolyn always desired to be an example to everyone she met of a life committed to Christ.
