David Floyd Martin passed away September 3, 2022 in Oklahoma City at the age of 55. He was born April 8, 1967 in Jacksonville. FL. David loved everyone in his life, each one impacting his life in a different way. He often told the story of being a little boy and crying for his dad each time his dad had to leave home to serve somewhere in the world. He was proud of his dad, who was an officer in the Marine Corps. It was a given that David would follow in his dad’s footsteps. David held his faith close to his heart and no one could change his faith, beliefs or who he was, a man of honor, faith, integrity, strength, commitment and morals. David enlisted in the Marine Corps on July 11,1996 and was faithful in his service and commitment to the Corps until his discharge on June 10, 2000. You could never take the Marine out of the man, it was so much part of who he was. He also served in the Georgia State Police from February 5, 2007 until August 29, 2014, when his health became an issue. Being a patrolman also became a part of David. He was the epitome of strength, honor, dedication and the loved that encased him. You were not able to see where the Marines or Patrolman started or ended. This is who he was. David loved hunting, fishing and fixing cars. David was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Jean Martin and Mosley and Darrell Francis Martin. He is survived by his wife, Gwen M Martin-Rodriguez, known as the Dynamic Duo they shared a loving and caring marriage, always putting the other first and falling more in love every day. David leaves a loving legacy for his sons, Devin L. Boyle, Ryan D. Martin and Caleb Martin and his step-sons, Jodi L. Rysdyke, Tony R. Rysdyke and Andrew Rysdyke as well and his grandchildren, Levi, Stetson and Bryndal. He cared deeply for them and carried them in his heart and they called him a great man, a Superman and a father, he was DAD.
