Dorothy was born October 10, 1932 in Oklahoma City and was a 90-year resident of OKC until she moved to Texas recently to be near her children. She was a loyal graduate of Central High School (Class of 1950), staying engaged in the alumni group for many years. Dorothy proudly graduated from OU in 1954 (BFA), working as a commercial artist at Semco Color Press for several years after college. She also later added her support to the orange and black when her 3 children all graduated from OSU.
Dorothy was a devoted wife to her late husband Marvin for 60 years and an incredible loving mother to her children. A long-time member of Messiah Lutheran Church OKC, she was active in the senior group and her small group and Sunday School class.
Dorothy was an outstanding bowler and got much practice, as her parents built and operated Meridian Lanes for many years.
She was a beautiful artist and calligrapher, creating many keepsakes for family and friends over the years. Dorothy also loved ice cream, collectibles, and traveling with her family, seeing God’s creation from South America to Alaska and Hawaii to Europe. She cherished being “Grammy” to granddaughters Katie and Grace and to her numerous 4-legged granddogs.
Dorothy was preceded in death by husband Marvin in 2020, her parents Chris and Alma (Koeltzow) Kramer, sister Shirley Schuessler, and brother-in-law Harvey Schuessler.
She is survived by her 3 children, Timothy Kramer of Suwanee, GA, Sharon Hinton and husband Richard of Colleyville, TX, and Rodney Kramer and wife Lisa of Tulsa, 2 granddaughters, Katie Kramer of Washington, DC, and Grace Kramer of Chapel Hill, NC; as well as many other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Dorothy’s name to Messiah Lutheran Church OKC, 3600 NW Expressway, OKC, OK 73112.
