Dorothy Jean Spiva
December 8, 1933 – June 27, 2019
Dorothy Jean Spiva passed away June 27, 2019 at Corn Heritage Village at the age of 85. She was born December 8, 1933 in Waldo, AR to John William and Emma L. Thompson Alexander. Dorothy lived in Oklahoma City from 1951 until 1999. Dorothy worked for a local law firm for 38 years as an executive paralegal. After retirement, she and Floyd moved to their lake house at Cumberland Cove at Lake Texoma. While in Madill they became active members of the 1st Baptist Church. She enjoyed many hobbies including needlepoint, antiquing, fishing and was an avid card player. Dorothy was a whale of a cook and loved sharing that talent with her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, Marie Smith, Iris Hill and Johnnie Clay and her brother, William Hoyt Alexander. Surviving her are her loving husband of 68 years, Floyd, son Steve Spiva and wife Linda, 2 grandchildren Lori Long and husband Mike, and Lonnie Spiva, 4 great grandchildren, Austin Spiva and wife Taylor, Ethan Long, Marshall Long and Samatha Spiva and a great great grandson, Asher Spiva. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in the Guardian West Chapel with burial following at the Moore City Cemetery.
