

Eunice Lorene (Bachman) Lassiter, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born September 29, 1926, in Bolivar, Missouri, to Arthur Albert and Dessie Viola (Messer) Pettet.
Eunice graduated from high school and went on to live a full and vibrant life. She worked as an executive assistant at Liberty National Bank in downtown Oklahoma City for nearly 40 years, where her attention to detail, punctuality, kindness, and professionalism made her an admired and respected member of the Liberty family. She was also active in the Liberty Retirees group until her move to Kansas City, Kansas. After retirement, Eunice was a very active community volunteer, giving her time generously to support local organizations and causes close to her heart.
Eunice lived the last 4½ years of her life in Kansas City, KS, where she made many friends at The Piper Assisted Living Community. Prior to that, she lived in Springfield, MO, Wichita, KS, and Oklahoma City, which she always considered her home.
She was a longtime member of Western Oaks Christian Church and First Christian Church. Eunice loved gospel music, sewing, quilting, and making Easter baskets for her family. She hosted a Christmas party each year for her girlfriends and shared her love and warmth freely with everyone she met.
She is survived by her daughter Allison Bachman Armstrong and husband Rick of Kansas City, KS; granddaughters Alyssa (Armstrong) Zimmerman and husband Doug of Lenexa, KS, and Dr. Caitlin Armstrong of Kansas City, MO; and great-granddaughters Eve Lorraine Zimmerman and Iris June Zimmerman, both of Lenexa, KS. Eunice is also survived by her brother Elvin Pettet of Missouri, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, including John Lassiter’s family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank B. Bachman (1988), and her second husband, John G. Lassiter (2019), along with her siblings who welcomed her into heaven. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City.
There will also be a remembrance service for Eunice in Kansas City on Monday, October 6 at 10 AM at The Piper Assisted Living facility, 2300 N 113th Terrace, Kansas City KS 66109
The family wishes to thank Kristie, Kayla, Madi, Sam, Olivia, and the entire staff at The Piper Assisted Living and Elevate Hospice for their outstanding care and kindness. Eunice will be remembered as a kind and giving soul who never missed the opportunity to go above and beyond for others. Her legacy of love, friendship, and generosity will live on through all who knew her.
