

Frances Louanna Wantland, 92, of Oklahoma City was born on February 27, 1931 to William Porter and Gladys (Stansberry) Fowler. She entered the arms of her heavenly Father on October 18, 2023 after a brief illness. Frances graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1948 and two weeks later began her long career as an administrative assistant. Frances was a loyal employee having worked at TG&Y corporate offices for 31 years, 25 of those as executive secretary to the president, Raymond Young followed by 22 years at Vaught and Conor law firm. Frances was a long time member of New Life Church. She loved to travel, read, work crossword puzzles, watch football, and spend time with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Mary Joanna Fowler, and her loving companion of 25 years, Charley Wendorff. She is survived by her sister, Loretta Faye Ingle, of Elk City, OK, two nephews, Phil (Marcia) Burrows of Oklahoma City and Kenny (Helen) Burrows of Sayre, OK, great nephews Jordan (Heather) Burrows of Elk City, OK, Tanner Burrows of Oklahoma City and one great niece Jenna (Charles) Gray of Sayre, OK, as well as six great-great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses on 7 East at Integris Baptist and the staff at Integris Hospice House for the wonderful care Frances received in her final days.

Viewing will be Sunday, 12pm-4pm October 22, 2023 and 9am -1pm Monday, October 23, 2023 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
Graveside services will take place at 3pm Monday, October 23, 2023 at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
