Frederick Dewaine Wilson, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on February 20, 1979, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Harry Leon Wilson Sr. and Sheila Derette Jackson.
Frederick, as he was known to many, moved to Oklahoma in 1981 and was a proud graduate of Northwest Classen High School. From the time he was 18, Frederick dedicated over 20 years to his career at NAPA, where his hard work, reliability, and good humor made him a valued colleague and friend.
On November 13, 2004, Frederick married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie J. Wilson. Stephanie and him built a beautiful life full of love, laughter, and memories, over 28 years, 22 of which they were married. Frederick was a proud and devoted father to his three sons, Frederick Rashon Wilson, aka Lil’ Frederick, Malachi Dewaine Wilson, and Rashon Dewaine Wilson, all of Oklahoma City. He found his greatest joy in his family and always encouraged his children to do better than he did, to chase their dreams, and to never forget to laugh along the way.
Frederick had a passion for music, especially rap, old school R&B, and the blues and a lifelong love for the LA Lakers and the Philadelphia Eagles. His favorite color was baby blue, and his presence could light up any room or backyard cookout. Known for cracking jokes while manning the grill with a beer in hand. Frederick’s laughter was contagious and his smile unforgettable. He loved to fish, play games, and spend time with his family and friends, always finding ways to make people laugh even when times were hard.
He leaves behind his wife, Stephanie aka his “sweets”, his sons, Frederick Rashon Wilson aka Lil’ Frederick and Rashon Dewaine Wilson, his mother, Sheila Derette Jackson, and his father, Harry Leon Wilson Sr., his brother Harry Leon Wilson Jr. and wife Kimberly M. Wilson of Spencer, OK, and his sister, Ashare Lashawn Gonzales and husband Albert Gonzales of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his nieces Sierra, Shanece, and Jordan, nephews, Adrian, Tyree, Kameron, Jalen, DaJuan, Gauge, Kyler, Tripp, and Caden, and his great nephew, Reign. Frederick also leaves behind his French Bulldog, Dobby. Frederick is preceded in life by his second son, Malachi Dewaine Wilson.
Frederick was notorious for being late but as he often said, it was better to be late than not to show up at all. For many of his friends he was looked at like a brother from another mother who was always there. Rain, sleet, or snow, he was always ready to roll.
He will be remembered for his big heart, his bigger laugh, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family, his friends, and the countless smiles he left behind.
A visitation will be held at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, located at 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, Oklahoma, 73008, on November 15, 2025, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will follow at the same venue, starting at 2:00 pm on the same day.
