

Glenn Dale Evans, age 97, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 in Oklahoma City. Glenn was born March 2, 1927 in Grubbs, Arkansas to Harrison and Beulah Evans. After graduating from Caldwell High School in 1946, he joined the United States Army where he served as a civil engineer. Glenn was a founding sponsor for the National Museum of the United States Army. He married his best friend, Ruby, on December 29, 1949 and was a devoted and loving husband for 50 years when Ruby passed away on December 29, 1999. His passions in life were his family and classic cars. After retirement, he went on to work as a school bus driver for 18 years. Glenn will be most remembered as a man who loved his family and taught them the value in being happy, being a good person even when no one is watching, and being a hard worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby Evans; brothers, Paul Evans and Len Evans; and sister, Geneva Woods.
He is survived by his children, Larry Evans of Oklahoma City, Steve Evans of Duncan, Sherri Evans of Oklahoma City, and Michael Evans of Inola; brother, Sam Evans; 4 grandchildren, Kelly Henderson, Camille Evans, Chris Evans and Craig Evans; and 5 great grandchildren.
A visitation for Glenn will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008. A graveside service will occur Friday, February 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
