Hazel Marie Horton

Hazel went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ May 14, 2026.

She was preceded in death by daughter Ann Horton Crow, husband Volney and son Gene. She is survived by daughter Mary Splawn and husband Mark, grandchildren Rebecca Smith, Rachel Stock, Christopher Daugherty, Allison Daugherty, Philip Horton, Haylee Splawn and great-grandchildren Natalee, Kaedan, Ava, Macy, Harper and Hazel Smith, Phoenix and Phoebe Horton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hazel Marie Goodmiller was born Feb. 6, 1928 in Oklahoma City to Richard and Clara Goodmiller. After graduating from Moore High School she worked as a long distance telephone operator. She married Volney Horton on Sept. 11, 1948 and they established their home in Oklahoma City. They were married 53 years until his death in 2002. Hazel was a homemaker who loved taking care of her home and family. She was very involved in serving at church whether it was working in VBS, Bible study, delivering Meals on Wheels or helping with Good News neighborhood Bible studies. She enjoyed helping others especially her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A viewing will be held at Bill Merritt funeral home in Bethany Mon. May 18 and graveside service will be Tuesday. May 19 at Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City at 2:00.
