Hazel Margene Harrison Tripp was born on September 22, 1927 in Oswalt County, Oklahoma to Claude Benjamin Harrison and Effie Flannigan Harrison and passed from this life on January 25, 2023. She married the love of her life, Calvin Tripp, on March 20, 1948 . They shared 56 years of marriage and lived in the northwest part of Oklahoma City. The family were faithful members of Northwest Church of Christ. Hazel set a wonderful Christian example, attending every church service, vacation bible school, and gospel meetings. Evening bible readings and prayers were an important family event. Hazel worked as the church secretary for several years. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1945. Following graduation, she worked at Tinker AFB for a year before working in a secretarial pool in Washington D.C. While there, she lived in a dormitory, enjoyed sightseeing in the D.C. area, and traveling to New York City with her best friend Jane. Throughout their married life, Hazel and Calvin enjoyed spending time with their families at several lake camping grounds in southern Oklahoma. Calvin loved to fish and Hazel loved to treat her family with delicious homemade meals. She is survived by her children, Claudia Tripp, David & wife Donna Tripp, and Richard & wife Nisey Tripp, three grandchildren, Jeffrey Tripp, Julie Darst, and Jessica Woodruff and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and nephews and nieces.
