Jackie (Jack) Walter Adair, 86, died on May 26, 2021. He was born April 22, 1935 in Durant, OK, to Walter Marron Adair and Lorene Willingham Dyer. He married Enide Lou Cunningham June 6, 1964 in OKC and they had one son, Jeffrey. He is survived by son, Jeffrey Walter Adair and wife, Karina Montemayor-Adair; grandchildren, Leonardo Jeffrey Adair and Katherine Lou Adair; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death are his parents; stepmother Lucille Adair; stepbrother Kenneth Bieler; wife Enide; and sister, Lois Mathews. Jack graduated from Muskogee high school in 1955. He served as 9th grade class president and was elected to attend Oklahoma Boys State by Elks Lodge. Jack lettered in high school football where he played linebacker, offensive guard and defensive tackle. He received All Conference Award as a defensive lineman his senior year. Jack studied Mechanical Engineering at Oklahoma State University but in 1958, he was drafted into the US Army Infantry Division and was honorably discharged in 1964. Jack completed a degree in Mathematics from Central State University in 1967. Jack retired in 1995 after working 35 years as an industrial engineer for Western Electric and AT&T. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending time outdoors at his lake cabin and walking the trails around Dolese Park.
Services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service with interment at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
