Jack Bacon passed away on March 6, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 86. He was born in Elgin, OK to Jim and Ina (Wright) Bacon. Jack is survived by his 3 children, daughter, Jackie Peliti and husband, Robert of Mustang, twin sons, Tim Bacon and his wife, Lissa of White Sulphur Springs, MT and Rick Bacon of OKC, 3 grandchildren, Kimberly Roark of Ada, Nate Bacon and is wife, Christina of Twisp, WA and Scott Bacon of OKC, 2 great-grandchildren, Suzannah and Wendell Bacon and numerous other relatives and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Edytha, by his parents and his sisters, Joy, Eunice and Pauline.
Jack retired from Eskridge Oldsmobile/Lexus of OKC as Body Shop Manager. Previous to being manager, he graduated from Okmulgee Tech and then worked in auto body shops in the OKC area. In 1967 he became manager for Eskridge Oldsmobile/Honda and stayed there until retirement.
Jack enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on April 1, 1951. He was 17 years old. He was a jet engine mechanic.
As Jack’s family and friends would agree, Jack could fix anything. From cars to plumbing to household appliances, he was able to fix it. Even computers did not leave him behind.
Jack volunteered with the area vo-tech schools to assist in setting up the curriculum for auto body classes.
He loved his pets, working around the house and spending time with his family. Jack requested no service. If you would like to donate in his honor, please do so to either the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
