J.C. Goodwin

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10th, 2014, at 11:00AM at Bill Merritt Funeral Service located at 6201 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany, Oklahoma 73008.

JC was born in Lyons, Kansas on January 8th, 1929.

JC married Elma “Ruth” Goodwin in Hutchison, Kansas at the age of 15. JC and Ruth spent 64 years together until Elma passed in early 2009.

JC owned and operated Tire Town in Oklahoma City for over years 35 years until his retirement. Never one to sit still, JC started Hutch Properties, LLC with his grandson, Lawrence Goodwin in 2009.

JC enjoyed politics, investing in Real Estate, traveling to Mexico, spending time with loved ones and running around with his little dog Scooter. JC also loved Sunday lunches with his grandson Lawrence, giving $2 bills to children, giving out coins and pearls to the ladies, and oysters Rockefeller.

JC Goodwin will be remembered for his fierce independence, generosity to others and his shrewd ability to negotiate. He will also be remembered as a moral man of great integrity who always did the right thing. JC was not an easy guy to meet but once you got to know JC, you loved him!

JC Goodwin is survived by his grandson Jerry Lee Goodwin Jr. and wife Kelly Goodwin, Lance Clifford Goodwin and Lawrence Joe Lee Goodwin. JC is also survived by his great grandchildren, Justin Goodwin and wife Susan, Madison Goodwin, Zachary Goodwin and Kaleb Goodwin.

JC is preceded in death by his son Jerry Lee Goodwin Sr. and his wife of 64 years, Elma Ruth Goodwin.
