Joan Redding

Joan Sarver Redding was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 6th, 1930. She was the only child of Joe and Eula Sarver. Joan and her family were members of Wheeling Avenue Chrisitan Church in Tulsa where she met Paul Redding. They were high school sweethearts and were married on January 27th, 1952.

Joan earned a Bachelor’s degree as well as a Master’s degree from Oklahoma A&M/ Oklahoma State University and worked as a registered Dietitian while living in Oklahoma City.

Paul and Joan raised three daughters, Cheryl Smith, Linda Sheehan and Mary Hiltz. She has six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Joan has always enjoyed traveling in the United States as well as abroad. Russia, Sweden, China, Alaska, and the Panama Canal are a few of her favorite destinations. Reading and sewing are two of her passions. She made clothing for her daughters and could always be found in a cool, quiet place with a good book.

A Family Gathering will be held at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008, US, on July 30, 2026, at 2:00 pm.

Entombment will take place at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7500 W Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73132, US, on July 30, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
