Josh was born November 13, 1982, in Oklahoma City to Lester Eugene Springs, Jr. and Susan Lynn (Moore) Springs. He attended Putnam City Original before graduating from Putnam City North High School in 2000, where he played basketball.
Josh was tall, handsome, smart, and just plain cool. He had an easy charm about him, and, as anyone who knew him back in the day could tell you, the girls loved him. He was fun to be around, and there was simply something about Josh that drew people to him.
He loved the things he loved wholeheartedly. His family and friends will remember the good times, the stories, the laughs, and simply what it felt like to have Josh around. Sports were always a big part of his life. Josh loved his Michigan Wolverines, Chicago Cubs, and the Oklahoma City Thunder, and he was always ready to cheer on his teams. He also loved being near the water. Whether it was the quiet, the view, or simply getting away from everything for a while, the water was a place where Josh found peace.
Josh was preceded in death by his father, Les Springs; grandparents, John and Bonnie Moore and Les and Jeanne Springs; and aunt, Karen Kalkbrenner. He is survived by his mother, Susan Springs; brother, Les Springs, III and his significant other, Jessica Jones, and her children, Norway and River; brother, Jon Springs; aunts and uncles, Debbie and Gary Dennis and Suzanne and Tom Rhodes; along with many cousins and close friends who weren't just friends to Josh, they were like brothers and sisters. And somewhere in all those memories, there will probably be a basketball game, of of his teams playing, a few girls who still remember that tall, handsome guy, and, most of all, the peace and quiet of the water he loved so much.
In accordance with Josh’s wishes, there will be no service. Those wishing to do something in his memory are encouraged to make a gift to a favorite charity or to Portland Avenue Baptist Church.
