Millard Kevin Dalrymple was born in Tucson, Arizona on August 15, 1945 to Harold and Rozella Dalrymple. He was a long time resident of Guthrie, Oklahoma. He had recently moved to Midwest City where he passed away on November 16, 2018 after a brief hospitalization. Now he’s singing with the angel band. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Rozella, and brother, Dwight. He is survived by six brothers, Ramon, Wesley, Grady, Ronald, Lyndell and Randy, and two sisters, Sauni Warner and Becky Oakland.
Kevin developed a love for bowling at an early age when he played in a youth league. He continued to play as often as he could. He loved swimming and watches. At one point, he expressed a desire to become a body builder and did a lot of weight lifting. He bragged about how strong he was and he used his strength to bale hay, load watermelons and stack wood. But most of all he loved to sing. He enjoyed all kinds of gospel music and hymns and knew many by heart. In his last years he attended the Wesleyan Nazarene Church in Guthrie. He always sat on the first pew and was an enthusiastic participant in congregational singing and also sang many specials.
Services will be held at Bill Merritt Funeral Service in Bethany, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 pm on Monday, November 19th and the funeral service is on Tuesday, November 20th at 2pm, with a reception to follow.
It’s not the destination; it’s the journey.
