Lee Arthur Hane, age 73, of Yukon, OK, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 after a 20+ year battle with copd and emphysema. He is no longer struggling and is in the hands of our Lord. Lee was born in Iola, KS on May 13, 1948 to Arthur and Maxine Hane and truly was the apple of their eyes. Lee graduated from Purcell High School in 1966 and attended Southwestern University. He served in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic on the U.S.S. Midway aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War and shared many stories of his various adventures in California during his Naval service. After serving his country, Lee returned to Oklahoma to work in the aircraft industry at Tinker AFB and Downtown Airpark. He later worked for many years at Andrew’s Lighting as a lighting technician. He took after his Dad working crossword puzzles and became an avid Words With Friends player on his ipad. Lee’s Parents instilled a love for music in him and throughout his school years he played in the marching band, as well as, numerous other bands, one being the United Sounds. He was a professional musician and played saxophone, keyboards, and vocals. His last gig was a multi-year stand at Friends Bar where he was a member of The Clique. This is also where he met his wife of 31 years, Debbie, which was love at first sight for both of them. Lee never met a stranger and when he married Debbie, he immediately fit in with the Morrissey Family. In fact, he was considered one of the brothers. Lee was the heart of his extended family who are crushed and saddened by his early departure and who he loved dearly. His closeness to our family is shown by his late mother-in-law, Luetta, when asked to name her eight children, would always say “Gary, Steve, Terry, Dan, Dennis, Rodney, David, Debbie and Lee”. He had a truly kind heart and a very interesting sense of humor. He gave digs to all just as much as he received them. Lee is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Maxine and his sister, Ann Hane. He is survived by his wife Debbie Hane, his son Colby and wife Liz Hane, and grandchildren, Dylan, Skye, and Mila Hane who he loved and adored. He is also survived by the extended Morrissey Family of Brother and Sister in Laws and numerous nieces and nephews. He was well loved! Lee’s Family would also like to sincerely thank the physicians at Oklahoma Heart Hospital – Dr. Richard Wood, Dr. Todd Lindley, and Dr. Subha Varahan for giving us five extra years with Lee. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 4 – 7 pm at Bill Merritt Funeral Home, Bethany, OK, and the memorial service will also be at Bill Merritt at 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 22, 2021 with interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in Lee’s honor to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
