Lorine was a homemaker, she loved her family, her animals, hunting and fishing. She spent her days crocheting and watching soap operas. She helped take care of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren while parents worked. She loved to have them come and give her hugs and kisses so she could squeeze them really tight and smooch all over their little faces.
It took very little to please Lorine when it came to tangible things she really never wanted or needed very much to be happy. As long as she had her family around and her dogs, she was happy. She liked to be in charge she sometimes told me that she was in charge because she was oldest.
She looked forward to the summer when they would all load up and go to Ft. Cobb Lake and camp for the weekend or week. During hunting season, they would go to the Deer woods in Eastern Oklahoma where she would get to see her sister Barbara. They usually spent Thanksgiving in the Deer Woods. Although she held a lifetime hunting and fishing license and loved to do both, she did not eat fish or deer.
She loved to watch OU play foot ball and yell at the tv screen because she could have coached them better.
She watched RFD on Saturday evening’s they would have polka dancers but really, they just dragged their feet around the dance floor her and Luther could have taught them a thing or two about dancing.
She had a very good memory up to the day she passed every now and then it would slip a little but most of the time she was spot on.
She lived 60 + years on one corner in Oklahoma City next door to her in laws. She told me they each paid $20 per month until both houses and lots were paid for.
After the passing of her husband Luther, she moved in with her son Floyd and his wife Sue in Midwest City OK. She lived there for about 12 years, after the passing of her son Floyd she stayed with her daughter in law Sue and helped take care of her until she passed a year later. She moved from Midwest City to Mustang Oklahoma with Kevin and Stephanie.
She was very content to stay home most days with her little dogs Roxie and Lilly that see loved dearly. She did get to keep Henry and Joe a few times before getting really ill. She loved when the grandbabies came over.
She was always excited when family came to visit especially the Golden Child TODD. Her whole personality would change she would magically feel better. The hospice nurse said she really lights up when he walks into a room. The hospice nurse didn’t know it but she lit up anytime any of her babies came by.
A special thanks to the Hospice nurses that came to the house Lorine really appreciated your care and kindness.
A special thanks for Janice, Patsy and Heather for all they did. She bragged about what good care you girls gave her and how she could not have done it without you gals. A special thanks to her Kevin for bringing her toast and coffee in the morning so she could take her medicine. Grandma was very thankful for those that helped her and she appreciated you all so much.
She died at Agape Road in Bethany Oklahoma, she only got to be there about 24 hours but the people there were awesome and we appreciate all their kindness.
