Margaret Jean Blalock

Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Mack Blalock; her parents, John Sherman and Ethel Ann Gilpin; her sisters, Linda Taylor and Shirley Day and husband George Day; her brother-in-law, Doug Lockhart; and her son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Tina Blalock.

She is lovingly survived by her sister, Bernice Lockhart of Oklahoma City; her sons, Billy Mack Blalock Jr. and wife Debbie Blalock of Edmond, and John Anderson Blalock and wife Sonja Blalock of Edmond. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Benjamin Spear, Alan and Katie Spear, Robert and Amber Eichler; Tiffany and Jared Rhodes; Christy and Brian Newton; Nick Blalock; Billy and Victoria Blalock; and Kaitlyn Blalock.

Margaret was also blessed with many great-grandchildren: Peyton and Paisley Eichler; Ethan and Tinley Rhodes; Brayden and wife Karli Braley; Bryson Blalock; River Blalock; Andru and Penelope Blalock; Elizabeth and Eric Newton; Tyler and Lilly Spear, and Donovan, Gabriella, and Sierra.

She is also survived by her beloved nephews: Jimbo Taylor and wife Brooke Taylor; Brice Taylor and wife Caroline Taylor; Brian Lockhart; Darin Lockhart and wife Robin Lockhart; and Chris Lockhart and wife Amy Lockhart.

Margaret graduated from Putnam City High School in 1955, where she loved sports and was honored with the Outstanding Athlete Award. Her love for sports continued throughout her life as she enjoyed watching her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews play any sport they loved.

Margaret had a special love for horses, especially her horse, Strawbaby, and she enjoyed being around horses whenever she could. She also loved square dancing and spending time with her family, who meant everything to her.

Margaret was a member of Putnam City Baptist Church and loved her Lord and Savior.

Margaret will be remembered for her strong spirit, love of family, and the joy she found in cheering on those she loved. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched.

Services will be 2pm Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
