Margaret was born the first of twin girls on Aug. 13, 1946 in Vancouver, B.C. Canada to Walter and Esther Elliott. She and her sister had four older brothers. Margaret lived in Canada until the age of 8, when she moved to Oakland, California with her mother, one brother, and her sister. There she grew up and attended San Lorenzo High School (where she graduated). Margaret met James Urish at a church dance when she was 15. They started dating when she was 16 and dated for 3 years before getting married on Oct. 29, 1965. James and Margaret lived in different places in the Bay Area and had three children together: two daughters and one son. James and Margaret also lived in Twain Harte, California for a year and a half before moving to Oklahoma City in 1983. There she lived until her death on July 30, 2015. Margaret always wanted to be a Citizen of the U.S. and finally (after years of paperwork getting messed up and with the help of a U.S. senator), on Sept. 30, 1994 she became one. Margaret was a loving wife and a dedicated mother who was blessed to be able to stay home and raise her children. As her children got older she was able to attend a Business School and worked outside the home some, but found that taking care of her family was her passion. Margaret enjoyed traveling, walks, reading, shopping and her jewelry. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Urish. Her daughters: Veronica Urish and Denise Mass and husband Nick. Her son: Matthew Urish. Her grandchildren: David Urish, Taylor Strain, Nicklas Mass and Ryan Mass. Her 6 great grandchildren. Her brothers: Walter Elliott, Rod Elliott, Doug Elliott. Her sister Marilyn Durant. She was preceded in death by her brother Jerry Elliott. Memorial services are pending at this time.
