Six grandchildren: Jamie Ridley Marlis, Paul Riley, Lisa Riley Braden, David Riley, Tiffany Holt and Jessica Holt. Seven great-grandchildren: Dina, Anna & Alex Marlis, Avery & Miles Braden, and Connor & Clara Riley.
Margret was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Leo Holt, her son Jim Ridley and her only brother, Bob Rogers.
Margret was an elementary P.E. teacher and coached basketball, softball and baseball for over 40 years. After retirement, she continued working at Rollingwood Elementary school as a playground monitor and substitute teacher. From 2008 until 2018 she was the crossing guard, which brought her much joy to see the students every morning.
Margret was born on August 20th, 1932 in Marland, Oklahoma to Cloyd and Edna Rogers. Her father was a high school math & science teacher and coach. Her mother stayed home with Margret and Bob until they were in school and then she continued working on her degree, later becoming a school librarian. In 1935, they moved to Crescent, OK and lived on West Adams Street. When WW2 broke out, Cloyd enlisted in the US Navy (at age 41) and was selected to be a troop trainer in Worchester, Mass, so Margret spent 5th-7th grades in Massachusetts.
After the war, the family returned to their home town of Enid, OK where she graduated from high school in 1950 and began college at Phillips University. She married Gene Ridley in 1952 and together they had 3 children: James Michael Ridley, Debra Ann Ridley Riley and William Lindley “Bill” Ridley. The family moved to Oklahoma City in 1962 after a divorce, so Margret could complete her degree at UCO in Edmond.
While attending a church party with a friend, Margret met Leo Holt and they married in the spring of 1964. Their son, John Cloyd Holt, was born in March 1965. The family attended Putnam City Christian Church. Margret completed her degree in Elementary Physical Education and started teaching at Windsor Hills Elementary in 1966, worked there for over 20 years until she and Leo moved to San Antonio for 10 years. She also worked at Dennis Elem. and Rollingwood Elem. schools. Margret and Leo coached countless teams together and loved spending time with their children and grandchildren.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to a scholarship fund for her grandchildren at: http://margretholtscholarshipfund.mydagsite.com/
