Loving Thoughts of Marilyn
~~by Marietta Edwards
A mother’s love is beyond compare,
Her gentle words and her smile are a gift.
In the sound of her voice, unconditional love,
Gives encouragement when we are adrift.
Though Marilyn is no longer chatting among us,
The example of her gentleness draws us near.
To love more. . .and regret less, with the heart of a child,
And believe in those whom we hold dear.
Help me Lord, to embrace that kind of love,
To be gentle and humble and kind.
When our blessings and all of God’s goodness,
Seem to have just slipped our minds.
To simplify life and never give up,
Hold firm to our Father’s great love.
And to know clearly, way down deep within us,
It all works for good from above.
