When Margie was just seven years old, her mother passed away, and she lovingly stepped into the role of “mom” for her two younger brothers. From that time on, family became her heart and her purpose. Birthdays were always a special celebration, and she especially cherished family reunions and time spent with those she loved most.
Margie met the love of her life, Russell Frisbie, in Bartlesville, and the two were married on May 10, 1952. They shared 69 wonderful years together, filled with love, laughter, and devotion, before Russell’s passing in 2021. Together they raised three children, Dan, George, and Anita, and made their home in Oklahoma City to provide the best opportunities for Anita, who was born deaf.
Both Margie and Russell became deeply involved in the deaf community and were lifelong advocates for deaf education. They joined Cherokee Hills Christian Church, where Margie remained a faithful and active member for more than 50 years. She treasured her church family and formed many dear friendships through her years of service and fellowship there.
Margie had a caregiver’s heart. She was always looking out for others and offering a helping hand. She enjoyed painting, sewing, and crafting, loved collecting cookbooks, and never turned down a good Braum’s chocolate milkshake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Lula Mae (Fox) Parks-Potter her beloved husband, Russell; her son, Daniel Lee Frisbie; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, John “Jack” and Joyce Parks, and Darrell “Cork” and Priscilla Parks; half-brothers, Harold “Buster” Parks and Hugh Clayton Parks; and half-sister, Lora Marie (Parks) Shipman.
Margie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Ann Frisbie; daughter, Anita Frisbie; daughter-in-law, Andi Frisbie; grandchildren, Ross (Abby), Lela (Drew), Eric (Erica), and Megan (Adrian); seven great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; as well as many other family members, church family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Bill Merritt Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Cherokee Hills Christian Church, followed by interment at 3:00 p.m. at Dewey Cemetery.
Margie’s life was defined by love, faith, and family. Her kindness and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her.
