Martha Jane Burger

Martha Jane Burger, “Jane” of Norman, Oklahoma passed to eternity Friday, March 12, 2021. Jane was born “Janie Bowden” in Lubbock, Texas September 18th, 1943. As a girl, Jane was a beloved member of Faith Temple in Lubbock, Texas. Friends, neighbors, and clients also remember her fondly from her time living in Bay City, Michigan and Midwest City, Oklahoma, and as owner of her long-time optical business Eye Wise Contacts. Jane is survived by her brother, Dr. William Bowden (North Carolina), husband Charlie Burroughs, children David Burger (Rose City, Michigan) and Araiah (Cheryl) Jazzar (Norman, Oklahoma), her grandchildren Eric Jazzar, Angelica Worley, Carmen Jazzar, and Julian Jazzar; and great-granddaughter Nella Partain-Jazzar.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, William Olan and Virginia Mabel Bowden, sisters Betty Louise Bowden, Norma Ruth Welty, and Wanda Sue “Sue” Lewis; and brothers Bill “Junior” Bowden and Kenneth Bowden.

Jane will be laid to rest beside her parents and brother Kenneth at Bethany Cemetery in Oklahoma City at 63rd Street and North Rockwell Avenue on Wednesday, March 24th at 2:00.

All family and friends are welcome for a memorial dinner at the Jazzar home and garden, 1221 Woodstock Court in Norman at 4:00.
