Mary Laura Frey

Mary graduated from St. Catherine’s Catholic High School in Baltimore. On May 15, 1949, she married her neighbor and sweetheart, Bob Frey. Their loving marriage was the foundation of a beautiful life together, and they were blessed with five daughters. In 1964, Mary and Bob moved their family to Bethany, Oklahoma, where they established their forever home.

Mary and Bob shared a love for ballroom dancing and could often be found enjoying time together on the dance floor. Mary had a true gift for gardening and found great joy in tending her flowers and nurturing beauty wherever she planted it.

A devoted mother, Mary gave especially selfless care to her youngest daughter with special needs. Her advocacy and involvement in the Putnam City Schools special education program reflected her compassionate heart and unwavering dedication to her family and others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Bob Frey (2014); her daughters, Laura McCoin and Mary Beth Frey; and her sister, Claire Gibson.

Mary is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie Holding; Margie and Chris Winter; and Carol and Robert Scroggins; her grandchildren, John Pool (Maggie Pool) Angela Wright (Shawn Wright) Shanna Pool, Natalie Heim (Matthew Heim) Ryon Winter (Taylor Winter) Jeffrey Scroggins; and her great grandchildren, Jason Alan Pool, John Preston Pool, Katherine Lindsay Pool, Tatum Wright, Ashtyn Wright, Andrew Kayne, Max Kayne, Adelyn Heim, and Lillian Heim.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 18, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bill Merritt Funeral Service. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 19, at Rose Hill Burial Park.
