

Mary Lou (Glover) Washburn, age 78, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024. She was born February 28, 1945 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Junior Boone Glover and Mary Lucille (Ham) Kirk. She grew up in Tishomingo where she graduated from high school.
In 1966, she moved to Oklahoma City where she met the love of her life Raymond Lee Washburn. And began her career at OU Medical Center, then started a new career at FAA and Tinker Air Force Base, from which she retired. She loved to send mail to all of her family and friends, the more stickers the better on the envelope. She also had many pen pals all over the world; they always loved receiving her letters in the mail. She also had a great love for ALL things Elvis since she was 15. She was the president of the Elvis fan club for many years. She went to Graceland at least 35 times. She conducted several Elvis events all over the country. Because of her collection of Elvis memorabilia she made the front page of the daily Oklahoman. She was very involved in the blind community, from taking them to doctor’s appointments and to the grocery store, she made many friends along the way. Mary was ornery, passionate, very beautiful, sweet, and giving with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved a good tear jerker. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Raymond Lee Washburn, which they were married 42 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Harper, son, Jay Hallmark, grandchildren, Leroy Dominick Harper Sr, Mary Leane Harper, and Diamond Aron Jay Harper, great grandson, Leroy Dominick Harper, Jr, she has many loving cousins as well as a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be 8am-5pm Wednesday at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
Graveside services will be 1pm Thursday at Tishomingo Cemetery.
