

Michael Paul Carpenter, 76, passed away on July 21, 2026 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born in Edmond, Oklahoma on October 21,1949 to Myron Frank and Eileen Anna Carpenter. Early in his life the family moved to Oklahoma City, where he later attended Putnam City Schools.
He showed early promise as an art student and later attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri with an art scholarship.
He was a talented oil and watercolor painter. After college he was employed as an illustrator of medical textbooks by McGraw Hill and Mosby publishers.
He returned to Oklahoma City and worked together with his father in his post retirement business. He was a parishioner at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Warr Acres. He enjoyed his time spent there helping other members with the church newsletter. He also enjoyed listening to classical and religious music, visiting museums and art exhibits, reading and watching movies. He was particularly fond of Friday outings spent with his cousin John Bley.
Mike is survived by his sister Kathleen Marie Branch (James). He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Michele Eileen Carpenter.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, August 21st at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 5024 N. Grove Ave., Warr Acres, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Charles Borromeo Church or to Catholic Charities of OKC.
