Born on August 11, 1956, Mike lived a life defined by hard work, kindness, and connection with others. Known simply as “Mike” to family and friends, he had a natural gift for conversation—he loved to hear your story, and he always had one to share in return.
Mike began his career driving 18-wheel trucks in the early years of his marriage, a job that suited his love of the open road. He later returned to his high school calling as an auto mechanic, dedicating more than 30 years to the trade. In his final working years, he continued to do what he loved by driving customers to and from the dealership, where he especially enjoyed meeting new people and brightening their day with conversation.
Outside of work, Mike found joy in simple, meaningful things. He loved driving, welding, and spending time in his yard. More than anything, he was known for his willingness to help others—if you needed something, Mike was there without hesitation.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jo L. (Marcotte) Ragan; his son, Michael D. Ragan; his daughter, Cassie M. Phelps, and her husband, James W. Phelps; his cherished grandchildren, Skyler J. Phelps and Jasper M. Phelps; his brother, Steven N. Ragan and Debbie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Benny W. Ragan, and his mother, Dorothy “Jane” Ragan.
Mike will be remembered for his generosity, his stories, and the genuine way he connected with everyone he met. His presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A Celebration Of Life will be held at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008, US, on May 1, 2026, at 2pm.
