Michael Lee Thornton

Michael Lee Thornton, 40, passed away in his home on Tuesday January 23rd 2018. He is survived by his mother, Leda Wetherington and sisters Jessica and Kim Wetherington, Heather Thornton as well as a niece, Cassandra Wetherington and a nephew, Baxter Wetherington. He is also survived by his Grandparents, Jesse and Millie Reinhardt of Ringling, OK.

Michael was born in Phoenix, AZ on May 20th, 1977. He graduated from Ringling High School and joined the Navy not long after. While in the Navy, Michael earned several commendations and medals and took great pride in what he was able to contribute to his country. After the Navy, Michael went to work for Schlumberger where he worked up until going into business for himself a couple of years ago. He was truly an asset no matter what he endeavored to do.

Michael was a lover of old country music, southern Texas rock and too much more to even name. He loved his friends and family and enjoyed spending nights barbecuing, hanging out and listening to great music. He touched everyone’s life that he came across and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, January 30, 2018, at Bill Merritt Funeral Home, 6201 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008.
