Millard A. Hibbert went to be with our lord and savior Jesus Christ on August 31, 2025, at the age of 98, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born in Comanche, OK on August 13, 1927, to Willie Hibbert and Nancy Adelaide (Hatfield) Hibbert. He was a 1946 graduate of Comanche High School and a Korean war veteran. He dedicated over 40 years to the Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company where he played a significant role in the construction of power plants in Muskogee and Harrah, Oklahoma. Millard was a fan of classic country music, a pretty mean domino player, and the greatest Sooner fan in the state. In his later years, he was always singing and humming a tune and played the piano by ear. He attended the Good Fight church in Yukon, OK, as he was able, with his daughter and son-in-law. Millard was a jack-of-all-trades who could do it all: drywall, flooring, electrical wiring, you name it. He built his own house brick by brick. His greatest skill was as a builder of human beings. He taught his children by example, showing them that a true man can be tough on himself but gentle with others. Millard was preceded in death by his brother Bill Hibbert, half-sister Jessie Vanderpool, half-brother Kenneth Vanderpool, his first wife, and children’s mother, Roberta (Dorris) Hibbert, and second wife Tess McFadden, nephew, Rocky LaMarr and niece Melanie (Vanderpool) Jerden. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Billy and Sheila Hibbert of Nashville, son and daughter-in-law Bob and Mary Hibbert of Bethany, son-in-law and daughter Joe and Peggy (Hibbert) Cleaver of Oklahoma City, two granddaughters, three grandsons, and three great granddaughters.
Funeral service will take place on Monday, September 8th at noon at The Good Fight Church in Yukon, Oklahoma and the burial will follow at Fairlawn (Fairview) Cemetery in Comanche, Oklahoma.
