Raymond Darrel Madden

Our hearts are broken over the loss of our precious father. Ray was unapologetically himself—funny, strong, uplifting, and loving. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was known to be quite the prankster.

Ray spent most of his working life as a semi-truck driver. When he wasn’t on the road, he enjoyed some of life’s simpler pleasures, especially horses and gardening. More than anything, Ray loved his family, his friends, and the many people who became like family throughout his life.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Teresa Ann Madden; son, Keith Alan Madden, both of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Tosha and her husband, Sergio Romo, of Arlington, Texas, Dustin Stevens, and William Herman Jr., of Oklahoma City; great-grandchildren, Tristian Ray Hernandez and his wife, Marcela, Ezekiel Hernandez, and Presleigh Jo Romo; and great-great-granddaughter, Rosalie Hernandez.

He is also survived by his brothers, Jim Madden and his wife, Linda, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and David Madden and his wife, Mimi, of Lubbock, Texas; sister-in-law, Linda Madden of Corpus Christi, Texas; and many extended family members and friends whom he loved dearly.

Ray was also blessed with a few very special friendships that he held especially dear. Sandra Jones, whom he affectionately called his daughter, Tom and Betty Hale, BJ McNabb, Don Renbarger, and Mark (owner of Triples) were more than friends, they were like family. These were the kind of true, lasting friendships that are few and far between, and Ray treasured each of them deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Doris P. Madden; brother, Ted R. Madden; daughter, Ramona Jo Herman; granddaughter, Brittany M. Herman; and great-grandson, Richard Hernandez Jr.

Ray’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Good Shepherd Hospice and Fairmont Nursing Home for the care and compassion they provided to him.

A Celebration of Life honoring Raymond will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
