Richard "Rick" Allen Waters
December 28, 1961 – June 1, 2020
Oklahoma City resident, Richard “Rick” Allen Waters, 58, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020. Rick was born in Oklahoma City to Richard I. and Janice (Johnson) Waters. He grew up in Bethany and attended Putnam City Schools, and was in the first graduating class from Putnam City North High School. Rick went on to attend the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. He worked for Architecture, Inc. in Bethany and did all of the remodels for the Putnam City School District. Rick was a huge believer in giving back to his community. He was a member of the Putnam City Alumni Association as well as the OU Alumni Association. As an avid golfer, he hosted numerous golf tournaments to raise money for various causes. Rick also enjoyed contributing to the Toys for Tots organization every Christmas. Rick had many hobbies, including golfing, snow skiing, and watching OU Football. He was also a member of The Greens Country Club. In most recent years, Rick took to being an Uber and Lift driver and met many fun and interesting people.Rick was a private person but wasn’t afraid to speak his thoughts on any particular subject. He will be missed by all that had the great pleasure of calling him family and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tracy Waters; dad, Richard I. Waters; and brother, David I. Waters. He is survived by his son, Price Waters; step-daughter, McKenzie Schlegel (Josh); mother, Janice Waters; siblings, Jan Crist (Curtis), Lisa Henery, James Waters (Kasi Stonebraker), and Raynett Swanson; sister-in-law, Dede Waters; nieces and nephews, Christopher I. Waters, David I. Waters, Jr. (Ariel), Lindsey Melott (Brandon), Cody Hill, Jayci Stonebraker, Kailyne Stonebraker, Cariss Jackson, Jacob Waters, and Stuart Reeves (Karen); great nieces and nephews, Abner Melott, Everly Waters, Leighton Waters, Calem Reeves and Declan Reeves. A Celebration of Life will be held 3pm Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
