Robert Andrew Mehlhouse

Robert Andrew Mehlhouse, 81, went to his eternal home on Monday, April 4, 2011. He was born a farm boy August 12, 1929 in Dysart, Iowa to Wesley and Hildegard Mehlhouse. Robert graduated form Orange Township High School and continued his education at the University of Northern Iowa where he received a Bachelors Degree in Education. He was a member of the Fraternity Alpha XI Epsilon and SAE. After teaching one year, he entered and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954 in the AAA Battery Anti-Aircraft Batalian. After his service he worked for Wilson Foods for over 40 years in various management positions and divisions. Robert was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Elks Club, and he served on the Epiphany Community Board for 3 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Juanita. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Rae Mehlhouse, of the home; daughter, Maura Carel and husband Doug; granddaughters, Jessica and Kara Carel all of Tuttle. A wake will be held at 7PM Wednesday, at the Bill Merritt Funeral Home Chapel, and Mass will be 11AM, Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 7336 W. Britton Rd. OKC, with Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
