Sandy was born on April 6, 1960, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Robert and Jean (Herndon) Gambrell. She grew up in Tulsa, graduating in the late 1970s, before moving to Oklahoma City in 1980 to begin the next chapter of her life.
Not long after, she met the love of her life, Elton “Lee” Leon Wester, Jr. The two were married in 1986 and built a life full of love and laughter. Together, they raised their two children, Heather and Blake, who were the center of Sandy’s world. She was the truest definition of a “Momma Bear”, fiercely protective, endlessly supportive, and always putting her family first.
Sandy had a strong will and a vibrant spirit. She took great pride in her appearance and loved expressing herself through beautiful clothes and jewelry. She enjoyed traveling and making memories, especially in South Carolina, which held a special place in her heart. She also loved visiting Florida, Las Vegas, and New Orleans, and treasured any time she could spend at the beach. Whether it was enjoying a good movie or appreciating the arts, Sandy found joy in the little things that made life meaningful.
Above all, Sandy will be remembered for the deep love she had for her family and the strength she showed through every challenge she faced. Her presence was a steady, comforting force, and her love will continue to be felt by those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Lee; her children, Heather Marie Wester and William Blake Wester; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Sherri Gambrell, Bobby and Lynn Gambrell, and Rex and Glenda Gambrell; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.
