

Wade H. Smith, Jr. born in Geary, OK , June 26, 1929. Then with his family moved to Weatherford, OK where his Father, Dr. Smith, Sr., established a dental clinic. Wade attended Weatherford Public Schools where he excelled in running in many track meets later attending Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell, OK receiving his degree. He was employed for a time by State of Oklahoma as a case worker in Dewey County DHS. He was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard at Weatherford, OK and served with his unit in Korea. Wade never married but had many friends with which he enjoyed going on ski trips, film festivals and other travel adventures. He was very dedicated to his job with the City of Oklahoma City and was still employed with them into his 80s. Wade relied upon his good friend, Doyle Brazil to help him in his later years of decline. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Opal Smith, his Father Dr. Wade Smith, Sr., Brother Phil Smith, and Sister Celeste Leach. He is survived by his Brother Charles Winston Smith and Wife Vera, Cocoa Beach, FL, Brother-in-law, Gerald Leach, Duncan, OK and many nieces, nephews and family members. Wade was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ where he was always interested in serving his congregation and the needs of others, very quietly. He was a cheerful giver.
