Margaret A. Meyer, beloved mother, grandmother, and Gigi, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, just three days before her 95th birthday. She was born on August 24, 1931, to her loving parents, Margaret and William Kelly.
Margaret was a devoted mother to Dennis Meyer (Deborah), Deborah Strauss (John), Christine Carey (Michael), and the late Kenneth Meyer. She was a cherished grandmother to Nicholas Meyer (Alyson), Alyssa Meyer, Joseph Meyer (Megan), Robert Strauss (Cassandra), John Strauss (Kelsey), Patrick Carey (Catie), Mikey Carey, and Tara Goettel (Ray).
She was a loving and adored Gigi to Addalyn, Harrison, Isabella, Madison, Easton, Leighton, Peyton, Ana, Landon, McKenna, Carter, Michaela, Tripp, Teddy, Colin, and Saoirse.
Margaret's greatest joy was her family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being a grandma and Gigi and treasured the many memories made together. Her home and heart were filled with the things she loved: reading, crocheting, playing Rummikub, and, of course, keeping the family entertained with a spirited game of Left Right Center. She was an especially talented crocheter, and many members of her family have a special blanket lovingly made by Margaret—a lasting reminder of her love and the care she put into everything she did for those she cherished.
Margaret was also a member of the Young at Heart at St. Martin of Tours in Bethpage, where she enjoyed the fellowship and friendships she made there.
Margaret will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, her sense of humor, and the countless ways she showed her love. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished so deeply and in the many beautiful memories she leaves behind.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00–6:00 p.m. at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, 234 Broadway, Bethpage, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours, Bethpage, New York. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
