

Bob grew up in Jackson Heights, Queens, and (sometimes) attended Power Memorial Academy and Hofstra University.
He married Elizabeth (Betty) Nugent in 1962 and moved to Bethpage in 1967 to raise a family.
He served in the Army National Guard for four years. He later worked as a financial analyst for James Talcott Factors and retired in 1995. Outside of work, he found great joy in coaching youth sports, dedicating many years to boys’ baseball and girls’ softball and positively impacting countless young athletes. In retirement, he spent his time driving clients and friends to the airport or the doctor, enjoying sports and drinks with friends and family at BK Sweeney's in Bethpage, watching the NCAA college basketball tournament in March, supporting the Mets (and Yankees), Jets, and St. John's basketball, and spending time with family. He was known throughout his life by many names, including Coach, Pa, and Uncle Bob.
Bob is survived by his daughters: Laura Bravo (John), Janet McCarthy (John), Lynne Cochrane (Steve), and Joanne McAndrew (John); and his grandchildren: John Bravo, Kristan Bravo, Lauren Ecock, Michael Cochrane, James Ecock, Emily McAndrew, Tara Cochrane, John Robert McAndrew, and Erin McAndrew, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Betty; his parents, Daniel and Mary; his siblings, Danny, Jack, Kevin, Maureen Ryan, and Jim; and his granddaughter, Allison Cochrane.
Visitation will be held at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, 234 Broadway, Bethpage, NY 11714, US, on May 26, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, 220 Central Ave, Bethpage, NY 11714, US, on May 27, 2026, at 10:00 am.
Interment will take place at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, US, on May 27, 2026.
