Alan Mahakian passed away, Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in Johnson City, NY at the age of 66. Alan is survived by his two sons Jeremy (Danielle) Mahakian of Binghamton, NY and Joel (Brad Brown) Mahakian of Orchard Park, NY, his three grandchildren Devin, Dylan, and McKenzie Mahakian, and his grand-dog Dozer. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Lilian Mahakian. Alan was born on July 30, 1951 in Binghamton, NY. He graduated from Binghamton Central in 1970 and then began his life long career as a car salesman. Alan worked at many car dealerships in Broome County including Botnick Chevrolet, Serafini Nissan-Volvo, Sonny Manny Auto, and Matthew’s Planet Pre-Owned to name a few. Alan never passed up a good meal and loved to watch his Miami Dolphins play football. Any chance Alan had he would spend time with his grandchildren or take a nap with his beloved Dozer. Alan leaves behind many special friends who became family over the years. Especially his “rat pack” that was there for him throughout the years. The family is grateful for the care provided to Alan over the last year while at Bridgewater under the watchful eye of dear family friend Leith Transue.
Alan’s family will receive friends Monday, April 9, 2018 from 3pm- 6pm at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY. At the conclusion of calling hours the family would like to share a few words.
