Wednesday November 14, 2018 Doris J. Goodwin, known as “Dora, Mom or Gram,” went to be with Our Lord. Born October 28, 1932 in Johnson City, she was the daughter of John and Genevieve McManamon. Doris married the love her life, Donald Goodwin on April 1st, 1955. Soon after, they moved to Port Crane where they raised their three children. Doris worked for Chenango Forks Bus Garage for over 35 years. It was there she met some of her life-long friends who shared many laughs and good times with. She was very proud to have had the opportunity to purchase a home in Florida in 1998. She spent winters in Hobe Sound right up until last winter. Doris was known for her spunk and doing the unexpected. She got her first tattoo at age 75. She was famous for riding her motorcycle with a sidecar, wearing her chrome helmet. She rode as a member of the GWRRA Chpt. Y (Goldwing Club) until she was 80 years old! Doris spent many weekends throughout the summer camping & boating with her family at Otisco and Cayuga Lakes where more amazing life-long friends were made. The family was blessed to be able to say goodbye and surround her as she passed. She will be missed dearly. She is proceeded by her parents, her loving husband Donald (who’s been waiting for her since 1986), both siblings; Sister, Ruth and brother-in-law Charles Graham and her brother, Francis. She leaves behind her loving family: Sister-in-laws, Elizabeth (Buffy) McManamon and Marion Kniffen. Children, Donna (Jack) Seeley, Connie (Otto) Mares and Gerald (Barbara) Goodwin. Grandchildren, Paula (Mike) Fairbairn, Christina (Dennis) Dean, Joshua (Angelina) Wheaton, Matthew (Aimee) Wheaton, Ashley (Kyle) Malane, and Joseph (Jammie) Goodwin, Step-Grandchildren, April Hoover and Todd (Annette) Hoover, a total of fifteen great-grandchildren, many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, NY 13901, burial will follow in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 20, from 4:00-7:00 pm.
