Port Crane - John Chuma, 93, of Port Crane passed away Sunday, June 3rd 2018. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Helen, brothers Michael and William, sister Anne and (Don) Clark, brother in law Edward Murray, niece Pamela Murray and daughter Karen Kline.
He is survived by his soul mate of 37 years, Rosemary Wyko, sisters mary Murray, Rosalie (Jim) Ashbery, sister in law Joy Chuma, daughters Faith Williams (Don Petrone), Sharie Lane (Keith Clark), son in law Tome Kline, grandchildren Jessica (Joe) Burns, Shannon (Josh) Basket, Shane (Tosha) WIlliams, Johnathon Buckland (Jessica), Britini Merrill, Ashley Kline, Brett Merrill, Samantha (Blake) Butler, Shawn Merrill, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his niece Linda for always bringing a smile to his face, and Ted Hissin for always being there for him.
John was a veteran of the US Navy and enjoyed watching his favorite Raiders, but, most of all spending time on the golf course with his grandsons. John was employed with Dr. Decker for many years. His greatest joy was his grandchildren that he loved more than life. He was one of the sweetest men anyone would ever meet. He will be missed dearly.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 10th at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street from 4-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 11th, at the First Baptist Church, 38 Canal Street, Port Crane at 2pm. Burial will follow at Port Crane Cemetery.
