Kenneth (Skip) Ross, Jr, 89, of Endwell, passed away on August 2, 2021. Kenneth was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Marie, his parents, Kenneth and Ada Ross, his aunt Beatrice Ross who raised him from a baby after his mother passed away, his grandson, Matthew Ross, brothers-in-law, Richard Dundon and John (Lillian) Gentile, sister-in-law Grace Gentile. He is survived by his children Cheryl (Tom) Savoldy, Scott (Trish) Ross and Terry Ross; his grandchildren, Tom, Erin, Michelle and Morgan Savoldy, Zachary, Benjamin, Christopher and Abigail Ross; his sisters Carolyn Dundon and Nancy (Ron) Bieber; sister-in-law Shirley (Don) Gentile also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Kenneth graduated from Binghamton North High School and Broome Technical College. He served in the US Navy from 1952 through 1956 and then went to work for New York State Electric and Gas Goudey Station where he met his wife Marie and eventually retired as superintendent of the power plant. Kenneth lived his entire life in Port Dickinson until 6 years ago when he and Marie moved to Good Shepherd Village in Endwell. He also served as Port Dickinson village clerk and was a member of the Port Dickinson Volunteer Fire Department and the American Legion. Kenneth was a devoted father and grandfather; he enjoyed working in his yard, bowling and playing golf. Kenneth and Marie traveled extensively, and especially enjoyed cruising. Kenneth was a member of Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, NY 13901, burial will take place in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of his family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 pm.
