Nancy L. Russell

Nancy L. Russell, 84, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Susquehanna Nursing Home. Nancy is survived by her beloved family, husband of 51 years, Bernard H. Russell, daughters, Donna & Keith Barry of Fort Plain, NY, Barbara Russell, step son, Dennis (Cindy Waters) Russell of FLA., grandsons, Derek & Megan Barry of Fonda, Brian & Becky Barry of Canajoharie, NY, great grandchildren, Carter, Elisabeth, Nathan and Ella, plus twin great grandsons on the way. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred Earl & Dorothy (Poole) Gardner, father & mother-in-law, Conan & Lorena Russell. Nancy worked for and there met her future husband Bernie at Specialty Foods, and was a former employee of Montgomery Ward Dept. Store and Forest Manor T.P. She loved playing cards with the in-laws and others, country music and collecting dolls with her friend Sandy Eldred. There were many Sr. bus trips that she and her friend Beverly Engle went on. Nancy was a long time member of the Port Crane Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, she was a lover of NASCAR and Loved Jeff Gordon extremely, and karaoke was a favorite thing to do with the McBride’s. She loved camping with the family and loved all dogs but Beagle pups were # 1 for her. Nancy loved her family and friends and she will be dearly missed by all. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 12:30 pm at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, NY 13901, burial will follow in the Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:30 am until the time of service. Nancy’s family would like to say thank you to her care giver, Pam Melvin for all her efforts and extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Susquehanna Nursing Home, especially; Tracey, Julia & Dennis.
