Charles Michael Buchanan, M.D., died May 19, 2024, after a brief illness. Born September 16, 1947 in Georgia, Mike graduated from Banks High School and Randolph-Macon College before receiving his medical degree from UAB’s School of Medicine. He practiced Internal Medicine at the Simon-Williamson Clinic in Birmingham for over 40 years.
Mike was a member of Highlands United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and volunteered with the church’s homeless ministry.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Billie Buchanan, and brother Warren Aubrey “Buck” Buchanan. He is survived by his wife, Connie Doggett Buchanan, and son James, along with an extended family of in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
