I grew up knowing Dennis from school. Later in life I was hired at Calcasieu Refinng Company and worked as plant managers secretary for years. Eventually was offered a new position as  Marketing Manager Assistant under Dennis Lawson. 
He was the kindest, caring person to work for.
I loved my years as his assistant. We both loved our jobs and worked well together. You are missed and will not be forgotten. R.I.P. my friend! 🌷🌷

My favorite memory of Dennis goes as far back as the Nineteen hundred and seventy six- seventy seven when he had what would be the classic good time van and we would hangout with Dennis and Ricky Ward parked on the lake side of the Civic Center.... just hangout and watching  all the tricked out cars & trucks that drove by... and of course people would have to stop and admire his van... 

He was always a good friend growing up... he was a awesome guy and I will always remember him... he always greeted me with a glowing smiling face ...  he would greet everyone the same way because he truly glad to see you.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dennis over 8 years ago at an oil industry function and continued to meet with him almost yearly while attending.  I loved doing deals with Dennis as he was always such a pleasure to work with.....happy, fair, and trustworthy.  He was definitely one of a kind and managed everything he did with grace and integrity.  We at Marathon were often amazed at how one man could handle so many roles at the Calcasieu Refinery.  He will be deeply missed.  Prayers and love to Dennis's family, friends, and coworkers.

I have lots of  fun memories from my teen years shared with Dennis and the kids in the neighborhood. Dennis and his motorcycle  you never knew when or were he might show up. My thoughts and prayers are sent to Miss Dixie, Vickie, Terri, Susie and his entire  family. May you find comfort in knowing that Dennis is smiling down from you in heaven and remembering all the happy memories that you have shared with him.

To the Lawson family...I am so glad that I reached out to Dennis about Dustin being his son a few years back. It may have been a little late but at least they got to know each other before he passed. I am so sorry for your loss and your family will be in my prayers.

Wow we are in shock.  I guess for the last 20 years we have played cards almost every 2 weeks during the baseball and football games. Denis either hosted it at his house or came to my house always was a fun game weather we won or lost. i enjoyed hearing him tell us stories of all his hunting trips and he always told us how much he loved his wife Cathy and his kids. this guy will be greatly missed by everyone.  and LC Refinary will not ever replace him. from Roger Tucker Byron Tucker John Richards Danny Taylor and me Jeff Wheat. we all miss you already. we all will have Denis Cathy and his family in our prayers. I’ve had the privilege of knowing Dennis for 20 years, as we worked together at Calcasieu Refining.  He taught me so much in my formative years with company and as a boss gave me numerous opportunities to succeed.  He was an awesome boss and coworker; always patient and ready to answer any questions you had.  It is hard to come in to work each day knowing that I will never hear him say “good morning”; which was how he greeted you every morning.  My heart is saddened that I won’t be able to run to him with any questions or have him share the unfathomable wisdom he had acquired in his 41 years with the company.  My heart is heavy for his family and his wife Cathy.  His love and devotion to her was all most storybook.  He loved her, his children and grandchildren and talking about any one of these things would bring an instant smile to his face.  The one comfort I have is knowing he is with his Savior.  I will miss him greatly and his passing has left a hole in my career life that will be hard to fill.  Dennis Lawson was the kind of man everyone should strive to be more like and he will never be forgotten.  

Dennis and I have been doing business for nearly 8 years now and his passion for his job and most definitely his family was evident.  Whether it was taking his grandchildren to Disney or merely jumping on the road for a RV adventure Dennis shined when talking about his family.
Most recently my daughter and I joined Dennis and his wife, Cathy, for dinner and it was an incredible experience my daughter and I will cherish.  My daughter spoke of Cathy the entire ride home and how they hit it off talking about kids, family pets and various topics.

Dennis was an honest but tough businessman who always kept his loyalty to the company.  I will truly miss spending time with Dennis and Cathy.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Cathy and the family.

Dad was a wonderful man who gave me so many memories. So many life lessons. So many gestures of kindness. But the biggest memory of all was his ability to know the difference between right and wrong. With Dad there was no inbetween. Its was either right or wrong. Many may not understand the significance of this but I have based my whole life around that concept. My brother and myself could not have been more fortunate to grow up with his discipline and guidance. It took us both alot of rebellion to realise how right he was about everything he taught us but we are both so thankful for the hard lessons and tough love he showed us. We are the men we are today because of him, and will continue to grow with his legacy rooting our every decision. What an honor it is to say that Dennis David Lawson was my dad. I will always miss but never forget you. Until we meet again I Love You Dad.

25 years ago, thanks to Susie, I met Dennis and his two sons, David and Nick.
Dennis welcomed me into their life, as an « au pair » girl, and trusted me with his boys.
But in fact, what Dennis did when he hired me, was to give me an extended family. I have so many memories of my stay with them. Discussions with Dennis, going to Jeremy’s little league games, playing cards alltogether.
Spending weekends in Holly beach. 
He will be missed, but all the good times we got to spend with him will remain. 
He loved his family, and was a proud father (and grandfather), and I will never forget his kindness to me.
I won’t be with the family to say goodbye, but you will all be in my heart.

My son and Dennis grew up in the same neighborhood. Dennis grew to be such a sweet man .  I have enjoyed chatting with him and Cathy at church when I was substitute for the pianist at Westside Baptist Church. We will miss him, but he is basking in the presence of our Savior! My love and prayers for the entire family!
