Dorothy Tyree Asher age 94, born in Kinston, North Carolina. Went to Glory, after a fall, while surrounded by her dear, beloved, devoted friends Mary Jane and Bob Lucas, and family Dottie worked for the U.S. Naval Supply Depot in Norfolk, VA, Standard Oil Corporation in Tampa, Fl, and at Jitterbugs with son Gary 1980-1982. She had many outside interest. She was MacGyver, when it came to Arts and Crafts. Dottie saw value in everyone and everything. She made every penny count. She loved and knew her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved to laugh and smile and she shared that blessed gift with abundance. Always dressed to the nines, if only getting the mail. Dottie loved her bowling leagues in the 1960s and 70s, while living in Las Vegas. She loved sewing , gardening, her Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and being a Homewood Band mom, with best friend Doris Snider. Dottie especially loved her Trinity- U.M.C.( Oakmont Campus Girls).They loved, supported, and sustained her to the end. She always put others first and loved everyone. Remember Dottie, as pictured above on Christmas Day 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jay R. Asher. She is survived by Son; Gary Asher (Fay) of Hoover, AL., Stepson, Michael J. Asher (Shirley) of Tampa, FL.
