

Ann was born in Birmingham to Herman Pettus Hearon Jr, and Elizabeth Robinson Hearon. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and her brother Lee Hooper Hearon. She is survived by her husband K. Wayne Vickery, brother Bob R. Hearon (Pat), sister in law Faye Hearon and family, nephew Randall Scott Hearon (Marion) and family of Nashville, TN, nephew Michael Keith Hearon (Sandra) and family of August, GA, niece Suzanne Hearon Washington and family of Birmingham, AL, eight great nieces and nephews and many friends.
Ann attended Birmingham schools, the University of Alabama and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She taught 4th grade math at Bluff Park Elementary for 20 years before moving to Simmons Middle for 12 years. All these years she worked at Parisians responsible for training Customer Service representatives. She then joined Blue Cross Blue Shield in Employee Training for 8 years.
Ann had a grateful and loving heart for the many blessings of family, friends, co-workers and the many children she had the privilege of teaching in her long journey in this life.
She brought joy to many residents at the Fair Haven Retirement Center with her courageous, loving, and giving spirit. Encountering residents, staff, at any level, or students from 30 years ago, she never forgot a name.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023, in the Good Shepherd Chapel at the Fair Haven Retirement Center, 1424 Montclair Road at 2:30 PM. Family will be receiving friends at 1:30 PM
